Now is The Time

Now, my brethren and sisters, the time has come for us to stand a

little taller, to lift our eyes and stretch our minds to a greater

comprehension and understanding of the grand millennial

mission of this The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This is a season to be strong. It is a time to move forward without

hesitation, knowing well the meaning, the breadth, and the

importance of our mission. It is a time to do what is right

regardless of the consequences that might follow. It is a time to be

found keeping the commandments. It is a season to reach out with kindness and love to those in distress and to those who are wandering in darkness and pain. It is a time to be considerate and good, decent and courteous toward one another in all of our relationships. In other words, to become more Christlike"

The clock in the painting is set at the11th hour to remind us that Now is the Time. Now is the time to prepare to meet the Savior, for indeed the “day and hour no man knoweth”.

The temple represents a safe refuge of peace and hope when the world is full of turmoil. This is a place of prayer, worship & learning. A time where we can reflect on our eternal goals and receive the personal revelation we need.

The red light serves as a reminder that we need to stop periodically in our hurried lives & confirm we are on the “straight and narrow” road back to our true home. We need to take time to listen to and care for family and loved ones.

The storm in the painting represents the trials of our individual lives, those times when our vision may be clouded by the distractions and afflictions of this world.

The light streaming through the clouds represents the Light of this world, our Savior. No matter how dark the storm, how heavy the trial, the light of Christ is an “everlasting light” even a “light that cannot be hid in darkness”.

The umbrellas represent the shelter that, if we live the principles taught, the gospel can provide a protection from some of the storms of this life.

The reflective puddles are to remind us to reflect on all the things that are good in our lives.
